Does the second amendment exist?

“A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” In February 1937 Adolf Hitler stated to the Swiss foreign minister “at all times, whatever happens, we will respect the inviolability and neutrality of Switzerland”. Meanwhile he decried the non-Germanic style of the Swiss constitution, describing the Swiss themselves at “Mortal enemies to the new Germany.”. Detailed planning was made to occupy Switzerland, itself sandwiched between two allied fascistic states. The Swiss put themselves on a war footing. The details of which are beyond the scope of this article but are best summed up by repeating the order that “No call to surrender was to be answered”. SS Oberst Hermann Bohme, reviewing the invasion plans in 1943, warned that an invasion of Switzerland would be too costly because every man was armed and trained to shoot. An aggressive, clear-eyed defensive plan, and an armed and determined citizenry meant that there was no holocaust in Switzerland.  The second amendment of the United States Constitution exists to give the population the ability to form militias to defend the United States. Whomsoever those foes are. This second amendment right was stripped away a long time ago and what remains is a a vestigial remnant left as a sop and as a distraction.
